After a behemoth week of gallery openings last week and temperatures as cold as a moody teenager’s heart, it’s safe to assume you probably didn’t get out there and see them all. Well, to make matters worse for your growing must-see list, there are even more great gallery openings this week!
The Chelsea galleries are the spot on Thursday with a slew of solo shows, but be sure to check out Leila Heller for the power duo Shoja Azari & Shahram Karimi.
On Friday, venture out into the unknown (Bushwick) and hit two birds with one stone at Transmitter and Tiger Strikes Asteroid. They are located in the same building so #bonus for not having to call an Uber or walk (yikes).
After attending a 5 hour brunch on Sunday, you might want to just go home, but we implore you to explore the Lower East Side. There are some fantastic shows in the neighborhood, but be sure to go to Pierogi for their inaugural exhibition at their new location.
And if you’re still feeling the chill from last week, feel free to stay inside and peruse ArtBinder Viewer to get your art fix.
Here’s how to use the map:
- The map’s various colors represent different days of the week. For a key, click on the arrow icon next to the map title.
- For example, to see galleries with openings on the weekend only, first click on the arrow icon. If you uncheck every box except Saturday and Sunday, you will only see the galleries with weekend receptions.
- Click on a marker to find out more information! A side bar will appear showing the gallery and exhibition name, as well as other useful tidbits.
- To prevent confusion for galleries in the same building, the marker takes a different shape for every overlapping venue.
